Bridging the Gap – The GAP Project is a 3-5 year programme designed to create site-specific, temporary public art that will enliven the Galaxy and surrounding area. NINE RED Presents… (CIC) working in partnership with local artists, individuals and organisations has formed an arts committee that will implement the Galaxy Art Project with the acronym “GAP” and is ran at No. 1 Bridge Street Luton.
GAP is a town-wide project creating art and cultural experiences that can help improve health and wellbeing and can result in benefits that range from the physiological to the emotional. GAP provides space for local visual artists, sculptors, sound artists, performing artists, photographers, filmmakers, and others to exhibit in The Galaxy Walkway and other Galaxy areas, including pop up art and performances.

The gap writing contest
Entry is free, so get creative. Write a short story of up to 700 words in any genre you choose, all styles are welcome. Or put pen to paper and send us a poem of up to 70 lines on any subject you choose. There are an additional two special categories for work inspired by one of our themes: The word “Gap” or the town Luton.

Entry is free, so get creative. Using traditional Art Mediums or go Digital the choice is yours and so is the subject matter.
All categories are open to everyone and individuals can submit to more than one category but are limited to no more than 3 submissions in total across all categories.
